Evidence-based knowledge. Designed for use.

From research
to understanding.

From expertise to content,
learning and digital services.

Akamedia turns specialist knowledge into clear content, interactive learning and digital services. Our two flagship projects illustrate this approach in medical education and in learning about languages and cultures.

01 / Akamedia Flagship

Two flagship projects.
One shared approach.

We are proud to present our first two flagship projects. Medical education and our language and culture programme apply a shared set of skills: structuring evidence-based knowledge, designing learning and creating digital solutions. Each project serves as a case study for future work.

Medical education and health information

An interactive education package.
Products for different users.

We are designing a practical education package, delivered through apps and a web service, for students in the final years of medical school and early-career doctors. Clinical cases, decision-making exercises and feedback support active, applied learning.

The same knowledge base will support summaries for healthcare professionals and separate health information apps for the public. The Omalääkäri and Omasairaanhoitaja concepts include a planned interactive connection to support from healthcare professionals.

Different user groups form an evolving product family: education packages, licences, app subscriptions and potential advice services. The offering and revenue model will develop in stages in response to users' needs.

LANGUAGES AND CULTURESIn development

Language and culture project

Two languages and countries,
one learning programme.

A Finnish–Turkish dictionary, grammar, language teaching and content introducing Finland in Turkish and Türkiye in Finnish form a single project. Illustrative videos and documentary-style country guides are also planned.

We chose this language pair because of our long-term work on its source material and our knowledge of both languages and cultural settings. Its demands make it a useful prototype for future language and country projects.

02 / Our shared approach

Evidence-based knowledge.
A considered user experience.

Both flagship projects move from a knowledge base to clear explanation, interactive learning and a digital solution for testing. Content, experts and user journeys are selected to meet the needs of each field.

01

Knowledge base

We bring together expert knowledge, source material and references, and define the objectives of the content.

02

Clear explanation

We structure the knowledge and choose ways to present it that match each audience's experience and needs.

03

Interactive delivery

We connect content with examples, exercises and digital learning pathways.

04

Testing and adaptation

We aim to assess usability with users and adapt the solution to new languages and content areas.

The next application may be in another field.

Future projects could address new language and country pairs, engineering, natural sciences or social sciences. Content and experts are selected for each field; the approach developed through the prototypes provides a starting point.

03 / Development and expert services

From an idea
to a delivery plan.

Our flagship projects illustrate the approach we bring to new commissions: shaping specialist knowledge into clear, purposeful solutions that can be developed further.

Akamedia connects research, learning and practical information needs.

We are establishing a company in Helsinki. Scientific research and medical teaching, together with long-term work on languages, vocabulary and terminology, form our first two areas of expertise.

The name Akamedia brings together academia and media. Our flagship projects exemplify a shared goal: making specialist knowledge understandable, learnable and useful. They also develop the foundations for projects in other fields.

Good to know

The projects'
starting points.

Why is Finnish–Turkish the first language project?

The choice draws on years of accumulated source material and our knowledge of both languages and cultural settings. This demanding direct language pair provides a tangible starting point for testing how a dictionary, grammar, teaching and country information can work together. We aim to apply what we learn to new language and country projects.

What connects flagship projects 01 and 02?

They are Akamedia's own flagship projects and case studies. Both organise specialist knowledge into learning experiences and digital solutions suited to different users. The demanding fields of medicine and languages and cultures help us develop a shared approach for future work in other disciplines.

Are these products already available?

The prototype projects are in development or preparation. The dictionary material and the medical content examples published on this site provide a starting point. App release dates, scope and terms of use will be announced later.

How does health information connect to healthcare services?

In the medical prototype, public-facing health information provides the foundation for a mobile app. Future development could allow users to move from information to professional advice or remote care. This service connection is a plan that will be refined during development.

Could the next project cover another field?

Yes. The approach can be adapted to new languages and countries, or to education in engineering, natural sciences or social sciences. Every project needs subject experts, appropriate content and a solution suited to its users.
